What Does a Brazilian Wax Actually Include?

If you’ve never booked a Brazilian wax before, you may be staring at the service menu thinking:

Okay, but what exactly are we removing here?

Fair question.

Because “Brazilian wax” gets thrown around a lot, and if you’ve never had one, you probably don’t know where a bikini wax ends and a Brazilian begins.

So let’s talk about it. No vague spa language. No making you Google diagrams in incognito mode.

The Short Answer: A Brazilian Includes Everything

At Bare Beauty Wax Studio, a Brazilian wax can remove all of the hair from the front AND the back.

Yes. All of it.

That includes the pubic mound, labia, bikini line and between the cheeks.

But here’s the important part:

You don’t have to remove everything from the front if you don’t want to.

Want to leave a strip? Sure.

A triangle? Absolutely.

Want us to take everything? We can do that too.

It’s your body and your wax. We’re not emotionally attached to what stays or goes.

Wait… The Back Is Included?

Yep.

The butt strip is part of a Brazilian wax.

This seems to be the part that surprises first-timers the most, so consider this your official warning: we’re going back there.

And before your imagination gets carried away, it is usually one of the quickest and easiest parts of the entire service.

No, you do not need to get on all fours.

No, it’s not weird for us.

We do this all day.

Brazilian vs. Bikini Wax: What’s the Difference?

This is where things can get confusing because different waxing studios use slightly different names for their services.

At Bare Beauty, we offer three options: Bikini Line, Bikini Full and Brazilian.

A Bikini Line cleans up the hair that would typically show outside of a bikini or underwear. Think of it as a tidy-up around the edges.

A Bikini Full gives you more freedom to remove as much or as little hair as you’d like from the front.

A Brazilian goes all the way. It includes the front and the backside, with the option to leave some hair in the front if you want.

So if you’re trying to decide which service to book, the biggest question is really:

Do you want the back done too?

If yes, you want the Brazilian.

Do I Have to Be Completely Bare?

Nope.

Despite the name, getting a Brazilian does not mean you’re required to remove every single hair.

Some clients want completely bare. Some leave a small strip or triangle in front.

Both are Brazilians.

Just tell us what you want before we start. There is no correct answer and we’re not going to talk you into taking off more than you’re comfortable with.

Does a Brazilian Include the Inner Thighs?

A Brazilian includes the bikini line, but it does not mean we’re waxing halfway down your legs.

Hair growth patterns vary a lot from person to person. If you have additional hair farther onto the thighs that you want removed, let us know so we can make sure you’re booked for the appropriate service and have enough time.

When in doubt, ask us.

Actually, when in doubt about pretty much anything waxing-related, text us. We hate phone calls.

Do You Wax Every Single Hair?

That’s the goal, but we’re also working with your natural hair growth cycle.

Hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grab it. For the best results, we recommend having at least a grain of rice worth of growth, which is usually around three weeks after your last shave.

If some hairs are too short, we’re not going to repeatedly attack your skin trying to grab three microscopic hairs that simply aren’t ready yet.

This is also why Brazilians tend to get better and more consistent when you stay on a regular 4–6 week waxing schedule instead of shaving between appointments.

What If I’m Not Sure Which Bikini Service to Book?

This is extremely common, especially if you’ve never been waxed before.

Here’s the easiest way to think about it:

Bikini Line: Clean up what could show outside your underwear.

Bikini Full: Remove more from the front without doing the backside.

Brazilian: Front + backside, with as much or as little hair left in front as you want.

And if you book the wrong thing because you genuinely had no idea what any of this meant?

We’ll figure it out.

We would much rather you ask than spend 20 minutes analyzing our booking menu like there’s going to be a quiz afterward.

Your Brazilian, Your Rules

There really isn’t one “right” way to get a Brazilian.

Completely bare? Great.

Leave a little hair? Great.

Not ready for the backside and want to start with a Bikini Full? Also great.

Our job is to wax what you want waxed and make the whole experience feel significantly less intimidating than you pictured in your head.
