Brazilian Wax 101: What to Expect Before You Go Bare
Thinking about getting a Brazilian wax for the first time? Feeling curious... but also slightly terrified? Don’t worry. We’ve got you (well, we’ve got most of you — the rest is getting waxed off). Whether you’re prepping for a vacation, a hot date, or just want to feel like a slippery seal in jeans, here’s everything you need to know about going bare down there — the funny, honest, no-BS version.
💥 So, what is a Brazilian wax anyway?
A Brazilian wax removes everything — front, back, and all the in-between. Want to leave a strip or triangle? Totally fine. You’re in control — we’re just here to help smooth things over. Literally.
💬 What Happens in the Room?
You come in, we chat, and we walk you through exactly what’s going to happen. You undress from the waist down, hop on the table, and we get started.
And yes — we make it as quick, efficient, and comfortable as possible. We’ve done hundreds, if not thousands, of Brazilians. It’s not awkward for us. We promise.
You might laugh. You might sweat. You might even say a curse word. Don’t worry, it’s all normal and all good with us. We’ve seen it all. You can’t faze us.
🧼 How to Prep Like a Pro
Before your appointment:
Grow it out: You need about 1/4 inch of hair — that’s the size of a grain of rice or 3 weeks growth since your last shave.
Skip the lotion: Clean, dry skin helps the wax grip better. Also, we have you pull your knees to your chest and it’s difficult to hold them if you have recently applied lotion.
Take a deep breath (and maybe an ibuprofen): If you’re nervous, it helps take the edge off. Think of it like pre-gaming… for your vulva.

❓Does it hurt?
We won’t lie: it’s not a massage. But it’s fast, and we’re skilled at getting it done with as little pain and drama as possible. Plus, the more regularly you come, the easier it gets (your hair grows back finer and softer). The first wax is notoriously the worst. However, the actual waxing part takes about 10 minutes and it will NEVER be that bad again as long as you stay consistent.
💗 Aftercare = Happy Skin
After your wax:
Wear loose clothing (this is not the time for skinny jeans)
No sweating, tanning, swimming, or sexy time for at least 24 hours
Exfoliate gently 2–3 times a week to prevent ingrowns
Moisturize - exfoliating slightly dries the skin, so follow up with a moisturizer to keep the hair follicle “lubricated”.
We’ll send you home with an aftercare kit with all these tips and more written down for your future reference as well as an exfoliating glove and sample of the nourishing oil we recommend - trust us, you’re going to love it.
🧖♀️ Your First Time Won’t Be Your Last (Hopefully)
The best waxing results come from consistency - it’s a process. Most of our clients start out nervous and end up addicted. Smooth skin + zero razor burn = a lifestyle.
Ready to go bare and feel bold doing it? Book your Brazilian wax now and let us show you how un-scary it really is. (And yes, we’ve seen it all — no judgment ever.)
